Gingerbread: A Novel by Helen Oyeyemi is on sale today only for $1.99 in ebook format. This one draws on gingerbread uses in children's literature. We know that means primarily Hansel and Gretel. I'd consider this one for completists (like me) who try to have most fairy tale retellings in their library. This is a cheap way to achieve that goal.
