Jane Eyre and Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil are available for preorder. The prices are currently higher than I believe they will end up. New listings are usually high, but preordering guarantees you'll receive the lowest price on ship date.
I saw Jane Eyre in the theatre and although I am not the fan that so many were, I must own it since I *must* own pretty much all Jane Eyre versions on film. Every so often I have to watch one or two and compare them. Then I end up rereading the novel. Yes, a quirk I am revealing here. After seeing this one in the theatre I had to rewatch Jane Eyre (Masterpiece Theatre, 2006) and Jane Eyre (BBC) to return to my favorite versions. Perhaps because I am still fascinated by why Jane Eyre fascinates me so much. Mr. Rochester is not my ideal in any way, but I relate to Jane well enough for that not to matter. He is rather icky in this film version--my husband has mentioned the hands around the neck scene more than once--and I know we're in trouble when I find myself rooting for St. John despite knowing the story better than any other novel besides P&P. There are other quibbles, but the look is gorgeous. And I adored telling the story in flashback. I have to own it for that element alone because I wonder that it hasn't been done before and it was done well here.
I haven't seen Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil yet but I plan to because I enjoyed the first one enough to give the second a try. And I am always more eager to laugh when taking a movie break and I think this one will supply enough for me.
