The Book of a Thousand Days by Shannon Hale is on sale for only $1.99 in ebook format. This  is one of my favorite of Hale's books and inspired me to add Maid Maleen to the annotated tales on SurLaLune. The tale, the setting, the book are all unusual in fairy tale retelling novels.

There are a lot of wonderful books on sale in ebook format right now. Reign of Shadows by Sophie Jordan is on sale for $1.99, the first time it has been priced this low. It is a Maiden in the Tower retelling, which makes most people think of Rapunzel, but I also include Maid Maleen in that group. The book description feels like a mix of both tales with Jordan's own twists and turns of course from that inspiration.

This is one the Kindle Deals of the Day which also includes 5 Regency Romances by Georgette Heyer , some of my favorites by Heyer. None are fairy tale inspired but they are fun romps.

Two Shannon Hale Bargain Ebooks: The Book of a Thousand Days and Enna Burning

Two Shannon Hale books are bargain priced temporarily as part of the April Kindle Monthly Deals on Amazon and elsewhere. The Book of a Thousand Days is one of my favorite of Hale's books, a retelling of the lesser known Maid Maleen. It is a lovely book and hasn't been sale priced in a while. Highly recommended!

The other sale book is part of the Bayern series that started with The Goose Girl, Enna Burning (Books of Bayern).

Both books are usually in the $6 range and are currently $1.99 each.

The Book of a Thousand Days by Shannon Hale, one of my favorites of Hale's books, has temporarily dropped to 99 cents in ebook format for Kindle. This book draws inspiration from Maid Maleen and is quite lovely.
